2018 was a fantastic year for veganism, with more people than ever pledging to go vegan and live a cruelty-free, compassionVegan Events UKate lifestyle.

As 2018 is winding up, it is exciting to look back on the year and to see what we have accomplished.

We, at Vegan Events UK, held 20 amazing and very successful festivals throughout the year from Dorset, all the way to Glasgow and many places in-between.

Alongside our established vegan festivals, in 2018 we introduced our first Yorkshire Free-from Show in September, to cater for vegans with food intolerances and sensitivities. This was promptly followed by our Yorkshire Yoga and Wellbeing Show, which brought massive support from the yoga community.

We appeared in Vegan magazines, local press and even gave two interviews about veganism on BBC Radio Leeds.

Later in the year, we introduced a very special friend to a couple of our events, and she was a massive hit. Ella, our very sociable (and vegan) 3-legged canine friend attended some of our fundraising vegan events. She captured many hearts, raised awareness of the incredible projects carried out by Miracle’s Mission, and appeared in local newspapers in Wales and Cumbria.

Our piece de resistance was holding the UK’s first ever, vegan and palm oil-free Masquerade Ball at Leeds Football Club in November, to raise much needed funds for Miracle’s Mission – Animals in Need. It truly was a magical night, surrounded by compassionate, like-minded people, exquisite food, amazing music, dance performances, a DJ, mega raffle and a silent luxury auction. The dance floor was full – definitely a night to remember.

Our 2019 schedule kicks off on Saturday 2nd March at the Essex Vegan Festival. We can’t wait to see you there!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has made all this possible in 2018, from our event stall holders, the people who attend our events, our sponsors and for the hundreds of people who volunteered their time, energy and skills, bands, singers, guest speakers, cookery demonstrators, yoga teachers, workshop holders, dancers, entertainers, photographers, videographers and all event staff.

Your selflessness and dedication to veganism and helping animals in need is very deeply appreciated. We could not do it without you.

A very Happy Vegan New Year to you all.
